For 2020, the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid has undergone a total transformation inside and out. The fuel-efficient sedan, which is expected to be available in both Limited and Blue trim levels, has been re-engineered to be more technologically advanced than ever.
To start, the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid’s 2.0-liter Smartstream engine is expected to deliver a whopping 192 horsepower when paired with an electric motor. The electric-gas hybrid combination means the Sonata Hybrid is expected to be able to travel as much as 686 miles on a single tank of gas, with the Sonata Hybrid’s Blue trim averaging 52 combined highway/city mpg. The Sonata Hybrid Limited should net 47 combined mpg.
Solar Roof System
The Sonata Hybrid also features another unique, environmentally-friendly feature: a Solar Roof System. Harnessing power from the sun, the Sonata Hybrid’s roof-mounted solar panels absorb enough energy to create 2 miles per day worth of pep for the stylish sedan. Further exterior modifications like the rear spoiler, wheel deflectors, air flaps, and a bumper lip were all optimized to be as aerodynamic as possible.
The 2020 Sonata Hybrid comes with a number of handy convenience technologies like Digital Key, which lets you give other drivers access to your vehicle and allows you to start and unlock your car form your phone. Navigation, Bluetooth integration, and a 10.25-inch display combine to make the most high-tech Sonata cabin ever.
