In just a couple of weeks, it will be the start of a new decade. If you haven’t made annual goals before, perhaps 2020 is the year to start. We recommend making driving resolutions to help keep you and those around you safer on the road.
Make a rule in your car that you won’t start driving until everyone is buckled up. This is the simplest thing you can do to help protect you in an accident.
Put Away Your Phone
Smartphones can be both a blessing and a curse. We love how they keep us connected to family and friends, but we hate how much we use them. If you struggle to stay focused on the road, put your phone away in the glovebox and turn on airplane mode so you won’t get distracted by notifications.
No one likes being late; however, speeding is not the solution to running behind schedule. Not only is speeding dangerous, but studies show you won’t reach your destination significantly faster than if you didn’t speed.
Be a Good Example
If you have young kids who ride in the car with you, they are always watching what you do. Start modeling good driving behavior by following the rules, being polite, and not using your phone.
